For jewelry designer John Hardy, inspiration came in 1975 when he traveled to the Indonesian Island of Bali to study Balinese jewelry making. At the time, Hardy was still just a young Canadian art student. He apprenticed with a master Balinese artisan whose family had once served the island’s royal courts as goldsmiths.
